Curing is the term for drying or completion of a chemical reaction with by the product. Just because an adhesive, sealant or gap filler appears to be cured (dried, set, hardened on the surface) doesn’t mean that it has cured completely. To avoid failures wait until the advised cure time has expired before subjecting sealants to water, or adhesives to full working loads. Check the recommended temperature ranges on the packs, and don’t apply outside of the range. Most importantly, in wet areas, do not tile over the sealant until fully cured. Note: The advice on labels about lengthening curing times in damp or cold weather.
